ProTech Power requires Apprentice Electricians to comply with all State and Federal regulations. This Includes 2 (two) paid 15 minute breaks and 1 (one) unpaid 30 minute lunch.
Job Description
Function as an Apprentice Electrician for ProTech Power alongside a licensed Journeyman Electrician, learning and helping to install new electrical systems and repairing existing electrical systems while maintaining compliance with national, state and local electrical codes along with all internal ProTech Power policies and procedures. Assisting with activities at commercial and residential locations.
Duties & Responsibilities
Learning and testing, repairing, maintaining, modifying and installing commercial, and residential electrical systems alongside Journeyman electricians according to ProTech Power policies, operations and productivity initiatives, including preventive maintenance on electrical systems.
Be capable to safely handle industry related hand tools, power tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, panel boards, batteries and other similar electrical equipment. Measure, cut, bend, thread, etc. and install wire and electrical cable systems, conduit systems and other wire raceway systems.
Along side Journeyman electricians learning and helping within control centers, distribution boxes, transformers, switch gear, receptacles, and switches, have the ability to terminate, pull into and feed wire and cable. In addition, splice and terminate wires at junction points.
Being able do tasks assigned by Journeymen efficiently and appropriately. Effectively communicate with Journeymen, Foremen, office and team members.
Being able to do individual part in sustaining workflow schedules to make certain all ProTech Power productivity objectives are met.
Demonstrate the highest level of professionalism and courtesy when interacting with colleagues, customers and vendors.
Comply with ProTech Power’s safety policies and procedures.
Skills
Must hold a current Apprentice Electrician license.
Ability to understand and learn how to install, build and maintain various power systems and control panels along side Journeymen Electricians.
Follow Electrical codes and installation guidelines
Learn how to diagnose and repair faults in electrical apparatus and circuits
Ability to verify compliance and functionality of installed systems.
Learn how to manage material estimates and material orders.
Start developing leadership and pre-planning abilities.

Basic computer skills
Ability to work in extreme environments: work may be physical and the employee may be required to lift 50 lbs and be able to pull 70 lbs of force; squatting or kneeling may be required while wearing a 25 lb tool belt. Be able to climb and work off of ladders, man lifts or reach booms. Be able to do conduit and wire pulling; stand for long periods of time while grasping or manipulating wires. While working for Pro Tech Power, employee may be encounter varying weather including, cold, snow, rain and heat; some job sites may have high levels of noise.
